Colorado Parks and Wildlife will offer a FREE Turkey Hunting 101 Seminar on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the Archuleta County Extension Office, 344 US Hwy 84, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. The turkey hunting seminar is open to anyone interested in learning how to turkey hunt.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will also host a mentored turkey hunt for qualified youth and adult applicants. The event is focused on introducing new and novice hunters to turkey hunting. The mentored hunting event will span the weekend of April 12 -13, 2025 following the turkey hunting seminar. Hunts will be guided by CPW Officers and occur on private properties around Pagosa Springs.

No hunting experience is necessary, but selected hunters must possess a valid hunter safety card. Apprentice licenses are not valid for this hunt. In addition, participants must have a spring over-the-counter turkey license on or before April 11th. Applications must be submitted by March 28, 2025 and selected hunt participants will be notified by April 1st.
