Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commissioner Murphy Robinson Visits Local Sportspersons at Steamworks Brewery

Durango, CO – November 21, 2024 – Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Commissioner Murphy Robinson visited local sportspersons at Steamworks Brewery on Thursday evening, engaging with the community and showing his support for the outdoors and conservation efforts.

Robinson, a representative for hunters and anglers on the Commission, shared adventure stories and heard about attendees’ experiences. During the event, he learned that Lea Leggitt, secretary of the Four Corners SCI Chapter, will receive the prestigious 2025 SCI Young Hunter of the Year award at the organization’s upcoming convention. Seizing the moment, Robinson, also an SCI member, personally presented Lea with a CPW Commissioner Coin to honor her outstanding achievements.

Robinson shared an inspirational message with attendees, emphasizing the importance of community involvement, conservation, and the role of hunters and anglers in protecting the state’s natural resources. He expressed his pride in being able to serve as an advocate for the sportspersons of Colorado, acknowledging their dedication to preserving the state’s wildlife and outdoor spaces.

The event featured appetizers and drinks generously provided by Four Corners SCI. It was attended by local outdoor enthusiasts who gathered to network, share experiences, and celebrate their shared passion for conservation and recreation.
