Lauren Butler is 18-years-old and is currently finishing high school at Dolores High School. She plans on attending New Mexico State University this fall in Las Cruses, where she will study pre-veterinary medicine.
Butler has been a member of the Montezuma County 4-H for five years, she has been an FFA member for all of high school where she shows market steers. She is also part of the Dolores High School Student Government.
Lauren has been hunting with her father since her freshman year of high school. She shared with the Scholarship Committee her story of harvesting her first cow elk and spending quality time in the outdoors with her dad.
We are proud to award Lauren the 2020 Tim Cooper Memorial Scholarship and can’t wait to see where she goes in life.

Students from the Four Corners area who are planning to continue their education via trade school, college or university programs may apply for the Tim Cooper Memorial Scholarship. Finalists are selected on the basis of their outlooks toward Four Corners Chapter SCI’s Mission Statement; participation in organizations, clubs, and other student groups at school and in the community; their financial need, and their academic record.
